What does a Behaviour Practitioner do?
Pivotal Leaders Behaviour Support Practitioners work wholistically with a person, and all their key people and supports, to gain a deep understanding of who they are and how they want to live their life. This information is then used to inform the development of a Behaviour Support Plan, which is a fluid document that captures as much information about the person as possible. It includes recommendations and strategies that will guide and assist the person to live a life that they would like to live.
Behaviour Practitioners help a person to understand their lagging skills, unsolved problems and difficulties, rather than seeing these as “behaviours”. We then work collaboratively and proactively towards creating proactive solutions, and support and train those recommendations and strategies to their key supports. This ensures a reliable and consistent approach to their life.
What does a Developmental Educator do?
Pivotal Leaders Developmental Educators are a qualified to provide specialised support to people and help them achieve their individualised life goals through the development and training of proactive strategies, with the ultimate aim to help them belong and participate in their own communities.
They do this through assessing a person and their environment, collaborative planning and goal setting, teaching skills through evidence based instructional strategies, supporting life transitions, advocacy, and education.
